Susan D. Serafini

Candidate for Co-op Board of Directors • 2-Term Incumbent

Why would you like to serve as a member of the Co-op’s Board of Directors?
My second term on the KCI board is ending on April, 2018. I would like to run for one more term as I feel I still have more to contribute. I became a member shortly after moving to the Copper Country in 1992 and became an owner as soon as the Co-op reincorporated. I have been a long supporter of the Keweenaw Co-op and feel it is an integral part of the community not only providing healthy, sustainable food and products, but also provides jobs and supports local farmers.

Do you have particular skills you would like to explore and share in your service on the Board of Directors?
I have a degree in Accounting, passed the CPA exam, and worked in banking for over 17 years. In addition to the KCI board, I have past experience serving on nonprofit boards. I have a strong understanding of Policy Governance the KCI governance documents and policies. I feel my background brings helpful skills to the KCI Board.
Do you have any questions about serving as a Board member?
I would like to run for the two year term that is open.
